The Uxmal ruins are located in the Mexican state of Yucatan. It is about 50 miles to the south west of the
current city of Merida. The city in ruins was part of the pre- columbian Mayan civilization. The Mayan city of
Uxmal was at it's peak between the 7th and 10th century.
